What is your fondest memory of high school?:  Music of the 70's! Disco sucked!
From Michael :
After 20 years of politics running Marriott hotels, my wife Jane and I decided to cure the national debt by opening our own businesses and taking out ridiculous bank loans.  We now own two Original Pancake House restaurants, and we will open our third in a couple of years.  Who would have thought while I was sitting in Kermit Waln's Chemistry class that I would someday be the "Pancake King" of North East Ohio??

Jane and I have been married for 22 years and have two awesome sons, Jordan (21) and Tyler (18).  Jordan is a senior at Hendrix University and Tyler will be a freshman at Ohio University.  (Two kids in college, thus two restaurants to pay tuition...)  Thank God they were blessed with their mom's brains and good looks.  It's amazing Jane and I can even LOOK at each other after running businesses together for five years!

We spend our precious spare time playing golf, hiking big mountains, road biking (the hills out here are brutal...), cross country skiing and looking for a good, full bodied Cabernet.  If we ever make any money, I'll spend it all on my favorite hobby, flying gliders.

What is your fondest memory of high school?:  Friends, before getting a drivers license going up on the bus skiing & finally graduating.
From Beckie:
Where to start! I've been living with (and married) to Bradley since - God forbid I was 20yrs old.

The primary income source has been my involvement in renovating and building houses, along with owning rental properties. After living in Stowe, VT for 4 years we moved back to Ft. Collins in 1980 and left in 1998 to sail.

I "almost" retired 10 years ago when we bought and lived aboard a 37' sailboat for 2 years.  We enjoyed traveling & seeing places on 'Jazz', but it's expensive and stressful.  Landed in Florida after selling the boat. We're currently trying to sell our house and will move to Athens, Georgia. Anyone want a 2nd home, with a lake view, for a Great Price!

I've been teaching Yoga for 6yrs and now work 2 days a week at the
Hospital so I can get health insurance.

Look forward to seeing everyone in August.

What is your fondest memory of high school?:  The Debate Team and the Yearbook....it was the people that made it such a great experience....Bob, Jack, Lisa, Scott, Stephanie and Marilyn, Katie, Jimmy, Greg, Paul and one of the nicest guys I knew in high school...Mike Flanagan
From Denise:
From the highs of working in the oil and gas industry to the lows of dealing with many autoimmune diseases, I have always searched for what God is calling me to do. I have learned to regret my mistakes, ask for forgiveness and respond with a loving heart instead of a logical head. Twenty years after receiving a degree in Business Administration with a major in Minerals Land Management, I earned an M.A. in pastoral ministry. I led Bible Studies for 20 yrs., served as a Bereavement Minister and now sing in a choir and study jazz piano. I have been married 28 yrs. to Don Clark (TJ Class of '76). Our son, Brian, 23, just graduated from TCU with a finance degree. Don retired last year as a partner in a private equity real estate investment firm.

What is your fondest memory of high school?:  Hanging around backstage as much as possible
From Marilyn:

Looking forward to seeing everyone this summer!  In the meantime, I'll try to sum up 35 years in under 250 words:

Family:  Have been married 27 years already to Steve Pifer, whom I met at Stanford through dorm theater and a series of practical jokes.  Mother of 16-year old Christine, who shares my love of drama and science.  One cat, adopted from the streets of Ukraine.

Work:  Lab technician, graduate student, postdoctoral fellow, State Department bureaucrat (international science policy), academic researcher, wife of an Ambassador.  For the last seven years I've been at an NGO managing grant programs for international scientific cooperation - the longest I've ever held a job or (since TJ) lived in one place.

Adventure:  Summer quarter in Germany during college convinced me I loved the international life.  With husband in the Foreign Service, lived near Washington DC in between years in Moscow (under Gorbachev), London (under Thatcher), and Kyiv (pre-Orange Revolution).  Still travel a lot for work, mostly to Russia and Ukraine.  Have visited 36 countries for work and pleasure, will add four more to the list this summer.

Fun:  Acted and directed in the English-language amateur theater troupe in Kyiv, Ukraine.  Now spend most spring Saturdays at the river as Crew Mom.

What I have learned:  No knowledge is ever wasted.  Cancer changes your perspective.  It's good to be a survivor.

Watchword:  Flexibility!

What is your fondest memory of high school?:  I think it’s still illegal in Colorado.
From Ed:

I’ve been in LA for the last 20 years where I run an advertising agency with my second wife of seventeen years, Natalie.  We specialize in DR advertising and our clients have probably annoyed you on more than one occasion with their obnoxious commercials cajoling you to call now.

I love living in Southern California, the lifestyle and the weather are fabulous. The only thing I’ve missed about Colorado is the skiing, but I’ve replace skiing with sailing my own boat.  The rest of my family still lives in Denver and I visit often, mostly around holidays and such.  Unfortunately, I have a conflict which will prevent my attendance at the reunion.  I hope everyone has a good time catching up.

I have three children now, Ashley 26; on her own working in advertising, Andrew 23; a junior at UNLV, and Haley 2.  Okay, okay I know, two!?!  It is interesting to be the parent of a two year old at 53, but it has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in a long time.

Lots more to tell but not within this venue.   Please, feel free to contact me and catch up.  I stay in regular contact with a couple of other alums and it is great fun emailing back and forth.

My greatest treasure of Jr and Sr high school was learning the language of "av" from Jodi Danielson.  I vowed at that time that I would teach my kids "av", which I have done and now they are passing on the language around the world.  Javodavi, avare yavou avout thavere?
